hello Tha

Hello Tha,

Congrats., on your labor approval, and wish you the best with next phase.

Can you please post the exact date of approval of your case ?
Did DOL convey this to your Attorney or your employeer ?

Thanks.
regards,

Happy for you, Tha

This thread is flooded by good news recently, but I won't complain about this.
By the way, just wondering if only GA Feb guys got approved? Really hope I am wrong.

Guys, I need your support.

We need to escalate the issue of AVM not being updated on a regular basis.

Background:Every time we call DOL in person, first quetion is being asked is whether we checked the AVM or not?

Well, AVM's phone number is not a toll-free (800) number and I am sure, most of us check is every week. (It's a different story that most of us use our free minutes on the cell phone) But, ideally if it is not being updated regulary then there is no point of DOL people asking as to check the AVM by making long distance call.

I checked back with my friend whose labor has been approved more than 4 months ago, infact he and his wife has already received EADs, and guess what, AVM still says case has been received on........

I called the 800 number that was posted yesterday by I guess, Laborunknown and inquired about why AVM not being updated. They told me that we update AVM regulary. In short, I did not get an honest and satisfactory answer.

What we all of us need to do is to call the 800 number as well as DOL number in person and put more pressure on them. We need to make them realize that AVM is a useless tool to find out the status and they need to update it on a regular basis.

Let me know if you guys have any other suggestions.

Thanks

Our attorney told me that they received the approval letter on 22 April 2004(Y'day).

I like your idea. But how do we make ATL DOL realize that dont do their work properly... i mean they dont update AVM properly... Any ideas .......

We can give some case numbers

We will need some help from the guys who are already approved for a long time...

If they can give the case number or they can call the DOL letting them know that their cases have been approved for long time but still in the AVM it says received....

Hello all,

I understand the need to get AVM working but I am worried if we escalate it and complain, DOL may assign some of the resources that are working approving our applications. If fixing AVM turns out to be a big task we may be delaying our approvals. So, I suggest we do not give them anymore work than they already have.

Same thing with flcdatacenter.com. I called DOL to find out if they plan to update that data, they told me that, that data and web page is handled by office of Asst. Sec. of Policy. I do not want to call that office because, they inturn might call ATL DOL and ask them to update the data. They will have to update 3 months worth of data, which will take away time to work on our applictiosn.

So, I say, lets not disturb the fast pace at which they seem to be working on our applications.

This is just my personal opinion...

regards,

Vinodatldol

As per my understanding, I don't think people who work on the cases update the AVM.

Also, as far as I know, AVM is updated by different department since everytime we ask the question why AVM is not updated, DOL people says: "We don't update the AVM"

Paincard:

Are you sure about this "we don't update AVM" thing? Last time I called DOL to ask for my case number, I was told that their priority work was to UPDATE AVM, not to find case numbers for individuals.

Good News Guys

My labor has been approved.

Reached Atlanta from Kentucky on March 17th 2003

Wish you guys all the very best.

I agree with vinodatldol, Let us not rock a boat that is slowly getting steady esp when we all are riding in it.

I agree, we should not be flooding DOL with calls regarding AVM for which they do not have any authority on.
They seem to be working pretty ok now, lets not piss them off by making them busy attending calls.
