hi all.

as one suffering like others from a never-ending wait for these processes to move forward...

i dont really think representations and letters to politicos is going to help.

this is an election year and we already have the demo front runner kerry shouting from rooftops about 'traitor' companies shipping jobs to India.

there should be a radical change in the way these applications are handled - new perm law ?? have been hearing it a while now!

till then...relax and remember that there is NOTHING to be attained by periodic raves and rants about 'nothing going forward'.

we cannot influence the process. at least not through legit and easy channels.

the windmills grind slowly but surely :)

Advertisement again????

One of my collegues who had a R_RO of Dec 20th 2002, received communication that my company should have put ad in the company website for 5 days or so, when the file moved from state to ATL DOL, because the his case was pending in the GA SESA for a long time(approx 18 months) . Do you guys know anything of this sort?

heard of a case in CA where an RIR was sent back asking for new advertisements to be placed in the local papers because
of the time-delay in the processing and state of economy with a higher percentage of unemployed meanwhile.

nightmare...just hope it doesnt happen too often in ATL.

rpranesh -

Was your collegue's case Remanded to employer or denied? Please update the forum about how this case progress.

Prosix, pl. let us know the status of AVM for your case.

Thanks:(

Hi Subha,

A good question from you ofcourse.

But if you are question is regarding whether there is a reason for it, then I want to remind you of the ATL processing. For last 6 months, ATL took 2 months to process case for 1 month. Atleast this rate, you could understand what will happen. The latest Feb status of ATL DOL shows that they didnot move even 1 month for last 3 months. No wonder backlog is pilling up.

The last time I read about new things going at DOL, they told that they will set up 2 backlog processing centers in Nov 03. I then thought that backlog centers were to reduce the backlog. Now I get their point. The only change what we have seen is that the backlog have not moved even 2 months for last 5 months.

If your question is that whether we should do something, then I would tell you that you have a choice. You can either keep quiet, or be a slave or fight for our rights.

I am not really begging them for certification. I have send them the documents, they can decide to approve it or not. But it has to be done in some reasonable amount of time. 2-3 years of backlog for a 15 min work is not a service. We are paying for the service, remember it is not free; and what we are requesting them is to check whether America needs our labor. Some people prefer to fight for their right, and some decide keep mum and feel the pain. I would rather die 1 time, rather waiting and doing nothing.

If your question is whether sending a mail to president and senators would help. Yes, I would say it is a gamble. I definately think that underneath the soft talk of all labor, American senators and representatives take a lot of money from industries, and care about themselves more. I think if we dont fight back and atleast as united as the illegal undocumented people, then what is the use? We can wait for our bleeding to take place, and wait till we die!

I am tired of this, and I want a firm answer and want to do something, rather than being helpless or doing nothing. Reasons like outsourcing has nothing to do with our case. We are doing exactly opposite. We are not taking jobs out of US, but bringing it in. And remember we are not begging, we are asking US to verify our documents.

If drivers license can be issued to illegal undocumented workers in 10-15 minutes, why cant issue an answer in some reasonable time, say 3 months. Why should it take 3-4 years. Remember they are not doing any kind of security checks. So what is the reason? May be they are lazy, may be they dont have enough people, but it needs to resolved, and best way to do is to send mail the people who run the country.

And friends, I need more signature and real names (or aliases).

Keeping queit doesnot help.

Think about it, What can you gain about it? Some changes may get trigerred. What are you going lose? Nothing. Because none of us are going to reveal our real names.
