Asylum GC and thinking about brother in COP...

Hello to everyone in this forum.
I just got approved for a GC based on asylum. I have a younger brother (20 years old) in my COP. He is willing to come to US very badly. Please, tell me if i can help him somehow to immigrate to US. Thanks.

Muslikcat,
You can only sponsor him after you become a US citizen. Unfortunately it will be 15-20 years if you just got your GC.

what country are you coming from? There are certain countries that if you are coming from you can sponser your brothers, sisters, mother father, and you wife and children. If you are not coming from those countries, then I don't know what other options available to you..and don't stop here...people here know little about immigration, so try different sources...you don't wanna lose any apportunity.....

I don't think you can sponsor your brother. If he is presecuted by Russian authorities or his human rights are violated he can try to apply for refugee status thru the Embassy in Moscow. However chances are pretty small.

Why is it 15-20 years. Isn't it true that after GC i have to wait 4 years in order to get citizenship? Will i be able to get my brother in US right after i become a citizen?
 
Nope. Once you become a US citizen, you'll be able to fill a petition for your brother, and after that there is a looooooooooooooooooooooong wait....

Unfortunately, it's true. :( After you become citizen, u can sponsor ur brother, and it will take (according to current status) 10 years for him to get GC.
