Asylum - citizenship interview

if this is a case i do not understand why you did not include this in your GC application

I-485 ask "Have you ever been arrested, cited, indicted, charged, convicted, fined, jailed for breaking or violating any law" rather than
"for any reason". If the OP did not think he violated any law and was just arrested for political dissence, he did not have to disclose
it if the question is taken literally.

During the citizenship interview, could the immigration officer ask me anything about my asylum case? In other words about the things that happened to me in my home country. I just applied for my citizenship and I'd like prepared for it. I got my green card through political asylum.

Thank you.

look at my other post in this section. I am an asylee and they questioned me for over an hour. they asked ever details about my asylee case. they asked so many unsettling questions as well. if you ever been detained even back home, make sure you write it down on your n400. i didn't because i thought the question was for being detained only in us, and the IO told me that i had to write down my prison time back home and i am afraid for that issue they might deny my case.so make sure you refresh your mind with every detail about your asylum case.

It seems to be marriage based and asylum based GC got more scrutiny at citizenship interview than employment based GC[/QUOTE]

you are right about that. except my case , have you heard from any one else with "marriage based and asylum based GC" that has a same issue ?

But in one case I was picked up by an undercover and tortured in the woods. How should I feel out the part on N-400? It asks for reason, place, outcome. So in this case the reason is because I was a member of a legal democratic political party, outcome is torture, and place is some woods. I understand the logic behind it but it didnt seem right when I tried to put in on N-400. I'm also assuming that IO will have my 40 pages of affidavit in front of him/her, right?

When the IO sees that the detention and torture was in the country from which you seeked asylum, they will move on to next question.

The IO may still need to know why the OP was picked up by an undercover cop. If it is because of his political opinions, then the IO should move on. But they want to make sure it is not due to some common crminial activities.

On the N-400 just write the date and put "See attachment" beside it. Attach a sheet of paper with one short paragraph to explain it, and mention that this arrest is detailed in your asylum case.
