Hi Guys! Your opinions welcomed.

1. What if an Asylee wants to get married to someone in native country, while on asylum status waiting for green card?

2. What if an Asylee wants to get married to someone, who is in the US on non-immigrant status. Does Asylee has to wait till getting green card to petition for spouse? Is spouse responsible for maintaining her own status, although she is married to an Asylee?

Comments appreciated
Cheers,

You must be absolutely crazy. The fact that you want to go back to your country to celebrate your wedding, with no fear of being harmed in your native country shows that you no longer fear persecution in your country.

You might as well leave this country and go back to your native country for good. Give your asylum status and your waitlist number on the adjudication line to someone who really needs it (like me)

Cannot agree more.

People in this forum complain that they are not allowed to visit their countries of nationality. Many so-called asylees have no serious need of protection and probably acquired their status by telling lies to the US government.

These frauds are responsible for the backlog we have now.

Asyleeold,

How come you say MANY so called asylees....?
There are more than 100,000 asylees waiting for LPR and maybe even more applying for asylum or in the process.
Have you investigated all of them to say that MANY of them are fakes?
If not, I consider your statement and insult to all of us and wait for a sincere apology.
Think about before making a statement that is offensive to other people.
Hope you understand this. Regards

I think we only need to assist instead of attacking fellow asylees.I thought it is the responsibility of ins to figure out who is faking not any one of us.Just let us assist instead of judging.Remember that there is a bunch of applicants who fake marrying American citizens and they obtain CG`even much sooner.

I agree with you. I think we should stick with helping each other in this forum, as this is the main object. And leave the Judging part about who is true and who is not, to the INS. I dont think anyone has the right to judge anyone here.

Folks! Having a desire to marry someone in your country of persecution in no way undermines your Asylum claim and in no way shows that you do not have a fear of persecution. Maybe you love someone back there and wants to marry that person. It has nothing to do with the validity of Asylum claim.

The discussion was steered in a wrong direction. My presented problem is a real problem (even if you read question#2) which every asylee will face in this situation.

I apologize if I have hurt anybody's feelings but do not draw conclusions from the problems presented in this forum.

Thanks and Cheers,

Laser, I think you should not try to return back to your country under no circumstances. If your fiance can not come to US, maybe you can meet her in the third country.

Folks, this forum got awfully emotional lately. Probably pressure gets to us... But I used to enjoy our spirit of community so much, pity to think that it will be destroyed, because we can not control ourselves. Everybody, lets cool off. Just ignore personal insults, it does not worth it. We don't need moderator, right?

I think what is more important is respect. I sense that when people disagree with each other, they start attacking and label others by words such as " absurd or kiddish or liars or fake." I am not saying that i did not fall into this trap but it was very hard for me to stay quiet when some folks showed their characters. I decided to ignore dandang's last remarks in which he called me liar and trust me t feels good to ignore him. I promise this is my last remark in this forum. i just wanted to get the facts straight. Good bye all

Hope that you will find a home soon.
