Arrested while driving with a suspended License, Is it a Criminal Offence?

Hi All,

in 2008 I got arrested for driving with a suspended license which i didnt know of, Is this a Criminal Offense. and I paid the fine in the court, and got my license reinstated, paid the ticket. In 2009 i came to canada as a landed immigrant and did apply for US visit visa, I got rejected. Due to this issue. Is there anyway i can get rid of this from their file.

No you can't, and there is more than just that ticket for a denial, specially for landed immigrants as they used to head straight to US after landing in Canada for a number a reasons and they put a stop to it by requiring a Visa.
 
yes, this is one of the issue i'm more worried about. I did some research online regrding sealing/expunged of the record permanentley, but i'm not sure wheter my case is a criminal case or not.
