Are they no longer issuing receipts for EAD and AP renewal?

Does anyone know whether they (TSC in particular) have stopped issuing receipts for EAD and AP renewal? I applied for a renewal a month ago and I have not received a receipt yet. I talked to two different IIOs and both said that the receipt should be in the mail and that I should check with the local post office. Of course, that did not help. I got the receipt numbers from the IIOs and when I checked the status online the message says,

Your I765 APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION was received at this office on February 4, 2003. It is taking between 60 and 90 days for us to process this kind of case. We will mail you a decision as soon as processing is complete.

There is absolutely no mention about INS mailing a receipt. Is anybody else seeing this problem?

The status says that the Receipt date for your AP is Feb 4. Generally within a week or two you should have received the receipt notice. INS will not issue another receipt notice.
If you have applied thru your lawyer check with the lawyer. Check with INS about the address on record...

Hi
I have the same issue here. Applied for renewal of EAD for both me and wife. Did not get a receipt!!!

I never tried to talk to any IIO in TSC.Do you use the same number fo enquiry 214-381-1423.

What was your experience?

Jaxen, when I receive a receipt from INS (BCIS) the online message clearly says that. For example, the status of my I-485 is as follows:

Your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status was received on April 25, 2002. We mailed you a receipt with information about processing. It is taking between 725 and 775 days for us to process this kind of case. We will mail you a decision as soon as processing is complete.

This is what is missing in my EAD and AP renewal status. Anytime that I receive a receipt it is mentioned in the online status that the have mailed out a receipt to me.

BTW, both the times that I called I verified the address and it is correct and I did not apply through a lawyer. However, I did apply the original EAD and AP through a lawyer. I will check with the lawyer.

smoitra1, yes, the number to call is 214 381 1423. It will take a while (20 minutes to an hour) before you can get through. You will have to be persistent. The IIOs were not be of much help actually. This is what happened. I provided them with the receipt number of my I-485 and asked them about the fingerprints. They then went into the automaton mode - "Have to wait for the computer to assign.. blah blah blah". Of course, thats when you say that the more important thing is that you have not received any receipts for your EAD and/or AP renewals, implying that you are prepared to wait it out for the I-485 approval, however long its going to take. All this just to salvage your lost mental peace. They will then tell you that the receipts have been mailed out and that you should check with your local post office, they will confirm your current address, etc. Then you can thank them for all the help that they have not provided and look into the blank wall opposite you and ponder what life is actually about.

Anyway, give it a shot. Maybe you will have a better experience.

I found the WAC number from the back of the checks. I tried with my number but both the IVR and the website cannot find the number. But when I searched with my wife's receipt number it could find it.

I do not know what to do now?

I do not know, the number looks clear enough; its like SRC-03-089-5xxxx.

When I am searching with my wife's number it is returning this.

I made a guess about my number( looks like I made a mistake of reading 57 for 51 ) . When I searched with that number it gives me the same message. But I am not sure whether the number I guessed is right . Is there any way to confirm that.

NO MENTION ABOUT RECEIPTS.
I sent in $88 as fee. I think that is issue!!!!

The only way to confirm whether the receipt number you have is yours or not is to call INS (BCIS).

Also, I think that no receipts have been issued (at least for EAD) for those applications that have been sent during that one month when the fee was reduced to $88. If I remember correctly there is a post somewhere on this forum which says that some talked to an IIO about this and the IIO basically said that the receipts were not issued. I have, in the meanwhile, given up all hope on this receipt issue. Just cross your fingers and hope that your EAD renewal is approved in time.

I talked to a IIO today. He confirmed that they have the EAD application and gave me the SRC number. But said that they are not issueing receipt for the cases who paid $88 fee.

He said something like 'it was entered in the system as fees collected elsewhere' and they are having difficulty in trying trace those payments.

He also gave me the number to call next time 1-800-375-5283. It is the new toll free number.
