Are name chack delays no longer a big issue??

One year after GC… I’m still following the forum

I noticed that there aren’t as many threads or post about long delays or name checks. Actually there are hardly any. I know a lot of rules has changed for GC (granting a green card after 90 days regardless of the name check) but not such laws for citizenship. There was the promise that the back log will be eliminated and cases will be finished in a reasonable amount of time. But am I correct in being optimistic?? Are people getting their citizenship faster now after applying? No more name check limbo??

I would like to hear people experiences. I still have a couple of years to apply. But after waiting for 4 years for my GC I am not looking forward to a similar experience. A little hope will help.

Thanks.

There seems to be some success in shortening the delays for US based applicants. I have a feeling this will probably result in longer delays for checks for NIV/IV applicants applying at US consulates abroad. Remember, noise inside the house bothers more than noise coming from the outside :)

Yes, but is it pending for name check, or is it now merely stuck due to retrogression?

Exactly/ I was mainly asking about citizenship because theoratically there should not be a name check issue anymore for GC since the new (now more than a year old) rule says that a GC should be issues after 90 days regardless of name check status. Or am I wrong on that or something changed??

I see less complains on this board about name checks... I also see a lot of citizenship applicant getting it within 6 month. It gives me some hope but I am paranoid.

I don't mean to undermind the suffering of anybody who might be still waiting. I know how you feel believe me.

It was 180 days, not 90 days. And they recently modified the rule so that instead of approving the case after the 180 days of pending name check, they would ask for permission from "Headquarters".
