Hello all,
My husband and I had our AOS interview two days ago and he was approved for his green card! The interviewer asked us if we were planning to travel abroad anytime soon and I explained that we are leaving the country in a couple weeks. He got AP and she said to go ahead and use that in the meantime since the card would take a few weeks to arrive in the mail. I asked about the I-551 stamp but she said he didn't need it. I just looked at his passport and it appears that she took his I-94. I didn't notice her doing it during the interview although she very well might have since she was shuffling paper and such. Is this common?
Are we ok to travel? What about the I-94, do we get a new one when we arrive back in the US? I just want to make sure.
