Hi all,
I have just received my I-140 approval . What does this actaully mean as I still have a pending I-485 in the line?

you can not get more than 7 years with L1A even though whatever application is pending. if you are close to 7 year limit, get EAD and AP.

chicago desi,
If someone gets I-140 approval, then he/she can get H1B extesion in three year increments. If I-140 is still pending, then one one-year extension is given. If I-485 is approved, he/she is a green card holder -- legal immigrant, and extensions for nonimmigrant visas are not needed!

Grasspoint, GotPR is right. I don't think you can get extensions beyond the seven year limit. So apply for EAD and AP if you are approaching this deadline.

Thanks for all the replies guys, 2006gc, I already have EAD and Ap.
So as I stand, I have an L-1a visa that will expire in August, I have an approved I-140, a pending I-485 and as I said above, I have the EAD and AP.
So, can I rest easy, or do I still have some work to do?

Grasspoint,
You are set. I-485 is all about you. Sometimes the waiting time is very short. Wish you the best of luck.
