Wow. I just checked my email account for the first time in days and I found a notice of my I-485 approval. That was somewhat unexpected.

Now a question, my permanent address is in Florida and I am in Los Angeles for school. Can I go obtain my stamping in here LA as I do not want to make a cross country trip for this (last semester of medical school is really hectic)?

You will probably have to go back because they would have an instruction as to go to the nearest CIS office near you FL address and that office knows in advance that you would be coming.
