appointment in nov, can i enter US in dec ?

hi all,
i got an appointment in november 2nd week. if i get stamped for H1B, can i enter US iimmediately after that or i need to stay upto march or any?

my receipt date is may04. petetion start and expiry dates are oct 1st 2006 and 30 oct 2009. this is what i guess you are asking.

You can enter anytime after the petition start date and if you have a stamped visa (for the given category).

To enter the US as H1, you have to meet all the following conditions.

1. Your H1 petition was approved.
2. You have valid H1 stamp.
3. Your H1 start date has been passed(strictly, you can enter 10 days before start date)

usually if appoitment is before oct 1st they would give start date as oct 1st.
do they give same start date if my appoitment is after oct 1st?!

Yes, the start date will be after Oct1 (regardless of appointment date) because you will be using FY2007 H1 quota. Also start date is given based on the job date requested by the employer (or I believe Oct 1, whichever is later).
