i am an Indian - born in India. I applied for canadian citizenship 3 years back and now I am a canadian citizen. I got job offer in CA and i know that I can use TN visa to work in US, but wanted to know - if I can apply for GC in US?

If I apply for GC - will I be considered as a canadian or Indian citizen i.e; will retrogression affect me??

I heard somewhere that the country of birth is considered for GC - while some people say that country of birth is only important for lottery system.

i'm confused.

Priority dates are determined by your country of birth.

Although you can certainly get a GC while being on a TN, if you qualify for an H1b, I would recommend getting an H1b prior to filing your I-140.

If you insist on trying to get a GC while on a TN, then you need to read the second post on this thread, so that you know what NOT to do:
