Apply for H1 while H4 extension is in process??

Hi All ,

Need advise.

I have a job opportunity and the employer wants to file for the H1 rightaway.My H4 extension is still in process (My husbands company has filed for an extension on May 30 th 2005.We should have the h4 by july end )
In this scenario how advisable is it to apply for the H1 while the H4 extension is still in process?

You can do h1, while h4 extention is under process. But give your H4 reference number to your H1 filing attorney. Do not forget

Thanx ,will keep that in mind.

One additional query ....If I apply for H1 b my h4 extension will automatically be declared void right?(I will be out of status till my h1 approval comes through , since at that point the H4 extension is void and I do not have a valid h4 status)Can someone explain ??
