Applying for B1 visa at Chennai, when the H1B petition is filed by another company

Hi,

I am working for Company A(Fortune 500 company), and the company is willing to send me to USA on B1 visa for 3 months. I have the appointment on Aug,30th.

While another company B(Normal Company, with strength of 250), has already filed the petition for H1B on May, 27th and I am still waiting for the approval.

My question is:
While applying for B1 Visa, Is it necessary(good) to mention that, I already have a filed petition for H1B from another company?

If I mention, do i need to take any special documents for b1 visa interview, regarding the H1B petition.

Are there any problems in mentioning or not mentioning the h1b file petition information?

Please help me immediately. As I have very less time to fill the application form.

You no need to tell anything about h1 petition. Just applying H1 does not mean you get one, even if you get one , no guarentee you get visa from consulate.
If I mention, do i need to take any special documents for b1 visa interview, regarding the H1B petition.

Are there any problems in mentioning or not mentioning the h1b file petition information? Mentioning will create only unnecessary confusion.

Please help me immediately. As I have very less time to fill the application form.

I have attended the b1 interview and it went fine. I have not mentioned anything related to h1 petition. May be i will get the passport after 4 days.

My interview is also cool, just verified the invitaion letters, appointment letters and certificates.

I have a doubt or question.

I saw that some people got the B1 multiple entry visa for 10 years and some got for 2 years and some get for 6 months and some others get only for the period requested.

In invitation letter, i mentioned that I need to go for 3 months.

Do you have any idea, how do they issue , on which criteria, the period of the visa.

I am a 4 yrs experienced IT guy(single), who have travelled to Italy and Israel till now. for how long, i will be getting the B1 visa?

You may get multiple entry , duration depends on their mood.

I am travelling to US on October, 7th upto December, 30th.

Just today, I have recieved mail, saying that my H1B petition is also approved, on Sept,7th(Reciept date: May, 27th).

I am now in confusion, should i cancel my business trip from my current company , to appear for h1b visa interview in october, or I will go for business trip and come back to india and then appear for h1b visa interview, in january.

First of all you will not get any H1 visa interview before Jan 2006, I guess.

Get an appointment ASAP, go for your business trip and come back and attend H1 interview.thanks.
