Apply for dv-10 even if selected in 09?

Hi all,

I have a quick question if anyone would be able to help me here?

If you were selected for DV-09 and are waiting to hear about an interview, should you apply for DV-10 just in case you miss out on a visa in 09?

Does anyone know if this is allowed, or have any information?

As long as you don't have the green card in your hands, you can apply : No Problem.

even if you have a non-DV GC in your hand, you can still apply! you will have to go through consular processing to get a new immigrant visa.

nd it might be the case even for a DV GC. They say classification should be different, though.
Possible classification symbols for DV GCs are
AOS
=============================================
DV6: Diversity Visa Lottery winner
DV7: spouse
DV8: children


CP
==============================================
DV1: Diversity Visa Lottery winner
DV2: spouse
DV3: children


If your classification is going to be different (from what it used to be), you could reapply and get a visa via CP.
