apply AP after received EAD

Does anyone know how long will it take to get the AP approval if I apply AFTER already received EAD? I got my EAD in mid Feb but never thought about applying AP - now I have to travel outside the U.S in late May. Any idea how long will it take to get AP? Any advise how to get AP faster?

AP may take 3-4 months
if you have not used EAD and are on H1 status you can enter on H1 status if you have valid Visa stamp or get H1 stamp. dont know your present situation if on H1 or used EAD.

The processing dates from different centers are about 3 months or so (look to uscis web page), for sure it differ according to many variables, some got it after 2 weeks others stuck for 6 months and may be more waiting. Nothing you can do to expedite AP or EAD, just luck. My advice, do not book tickets or arrange for any travel except after approval.
