I apologize in advance if this information is some where else but I haven't been able to find it. The anniversary of my Greencard is August 1, 2014 so I am eligible to file 5/03/14 (90 days prior to the anniversary date )under the 3 year rule (marriage to US citizen). I am wondering if there is a deadline for the application as there was for the GC. Meaning, do I have to apply before August 1, 2014 or can I apply any time after 05/03?

Also I want to go on vacation out of the US during the summer and I'm wondering if this will be an issue if my application is still processing?

You never have to apply for citizenship. That's a choice. So, you'll be eligible any time after the first week of May. As long as someone checks your mail, and you're not gone for months at a time, you can apply. Just make sure you go to the biometrics appointment which will be 3-6 weeks after you send your application.
 
Thanks cafeconleche!! That's what I thought but didn't want to find out that I had to wait 5 years just because I didn't apply by August 1. I may not apply until September even though I will be eligible the first week in May.
 
You can wait as long as you like. You can also wait for 5 years and apply under the 5 year rule. It's easier than having to deal with showing documentation about your marriage and stuff.
 
cafeconleche, so are documents requested from the marriage for Citizenship as much as required for the Removal of Conditions? I thought is was easier for CItizenship
