Ap travel and unemployed

Greetings from New York.

I have my AP and my EAD, but I am currently between jobs. If I were to travel, would I get asked questions at the airport on return about my current employment? If I say I am NOT currently employed but I have the AP and the EAD, would this cause a refusal of entry?

Many thanks!

James

You should say the truth and if yousaysomething else and be discovered it will be immigration fraud
It is the pending status of I485 and valid unexpired AP (EAD has nothing to do at all) which will let you in, not your employment status at the time of entry.

Is your reply true in case I travel back to USA with valid AP after 1 year of overseas stay?

(Situation in my case is....I travelled to India for 3 months on H1B for helping getting my sister married...Things did not work out within 3 months, and I am convinced it needs my continued presence which may be 1 year. This may make me resign my current job and leave USA till my sister's marriage gets arranged and done )
In fact, is there any way to verify with USCIS/immigration if this would be considered as a genuine family condition ?
