AP question.

My wife will be travelling to India during May 2003. Her H4 visa will expire in Sept 2003 and AP will expire in Nov 2003. She will return to US in August 2003. If she uses her AP how long can she stay outside US?

your question is flawed. You use AP or H1 when you come back into US.
After coming into US using H1/H4, you can always switch to EAD/AP after H expiry
After coming into US using AP, your status is saved until 485 is rejected...
