I am trying to file AP by myself..

In the form I-131 for AP on page 3, there is a section called Initial Evidence/Evidence of Eligibility that mentions the following:
All applications must inlcude a copy an official photo identity document showing your photo, name and date of birth. (Example: a valid government issued driver's license, passport identity page, Form I-551, Permamnent Resident Card or any other official identity document.).....

As far as I know I have not seen it mentioned anywhere in this forum that this document is required.

Has anybody submitted driver's license or passport copy for this?

Many get RFE from NSC; better send color copy of your DL and first page of passport color copy with AP or EAD application
 
I was hoping ginnu or somebody would answer this..I need to file asap so that I can book air tickets.

But I am surprised.. all this while I was reading that NSC or even VSC issues RFE for color copy I had not seen the instruction sheet for EAD/AOS/PAW as everything was filed by my lawyer. Also, my laywer had not submitted color copy for EAD for which I did not get RFE.
Now that I am trying to file AP by myself I see this mentioned clearly in the instruction sheet. It is pretty clear to me that they need a copy of either of those documents.
Questions:

--Is this req only for AP? if it is, do they really need color copy or just a b/w copy as the sheet doesn't mention color copy.
--Does EAD instruction sheet come with a similar instruction directive?

I guess this might be a heads up for everybody filing for AP

NSC asks Color copy of DL and First page of Passport for AP and EAD, I also read 2-3 posts that VSC also started asking the same

----- You can read the EAD instructions download the form I-765 and read even if you don’t find instruction to send color copy of DL and PP send it:

I guess I will have to go for the color copies...

Now I read somewhere in this forum that someone got a call from the Police after he tried to get color copies of his driving license!!!!
Go figure!!!
Is it true that places like Kinko's, Office Max do not allow color copies? anybody had any experience with that?
What if I scan it and get a color print out?
