Any guidance/past experiences with FP will help. Thanks in advance!! Scheduled for end July.

I had mine done in a service center on Buford Highway, near the PDK airport. Arrived there, got through security, got a ticket and waited my turn. After about 1.5 hours my turn came. They had electronic scanners. They took fingerprints of all the fingers separately and then "hand-prints" of both hands. The whole process took about 20 minutes. I got a receipt saying that my fingerprints were collected at that day. It was on April 7, 2003 (over 15 months ago), so it may have changed since then.

eltoro thanks! my receipt does state the same address. We have an appointment for 11 am, do we still have to wait for 2 hours  ? Sounds like they do not value your time at all!!!

I don't know a reason for the delay. I came in there 15 minutes before the scheduled appointment time. After all the formalities (security check, ticket issuance etc) I was 5 minutes ahead of my appointment time, but still had to wait for 1.5 hours after that. BTW. My scheduled time was 1 PM.

I heard from some of my friends and also read on this board that you can actually show up earlier (like today, not on your scheduled date) and still be accepted, workload permitting. I guess since they accept anyone with an appointment regardless of the appointment date that might create some delays. So maybe try to show up some day before your appointment at their opening hour (the operating hours should be on your notice). This could also have a discrete benefit of shortening your I-485 waiting for a few days :)

Thats a good suggestion! Its just that we have 2 kids and I am a student(my husbad is the primary applicant). So its kinda difficult to just go there with no guarantee of results. But thanks for your response. Appreciate it!!! :)

The beauty of this forum is to share information freely for the benefit of all. Therefore, can I kindly ask if you can share it openly over here? That would be of help to everybody. Thanks.

Here's an idea

The ASC opens at 8. You might try getting there as soon as it opens and see if you can get in early and beat the rush.

Openly sharing information

I appreciate your sentiments but there is a reason to be discreet so that USCIS does not do something which might hurt us in the long run!
