When I called just minutes ago, the officer din't give me any info. When I asked about Name Check, he said it is their internal check and there is no way he can disclose that info to me. He said I called to the wrong place, which is supposed to handle all approvals and denies, not pending cases. He did ask the base of my case and said for employment-based, USCIS is processing as fast as they can.

Few minutes back, I also got the same guy who talks non-stop without even giving an opportunity to talk from my side. No gap when he talks. He said (lectured) the same stuff as above. He did not provide any type of information. TOTAL ZERO OUTPUT!:mad:

I think it is better going for Infopass.

The number and info provided by toraboraus are correct. I would prefer to call INS IO and find out if you are in that staging area or not!! You can still open service request but most likely you will get very standard (they are good at COPY and PASTE stuff!!) reply..But good luck...
 
I called NSC to know abt my case , since there was no one to attend my call they transferred my line to National Benefit Center .

"One guy politely attend my question, I gave all my details, He said I'll check and return, he took 10 minutes to come back, and told the
my case is not in any security check and name check ,I asked him whether it got cleared , he said dont know but in system it says any NO pending for this LIN number but FP notice has been send for June 27th 07.

I told yes I rec. on June 18th

He said 'Go and give the FP and they will take decision in 60 days reg. my case."

Has anyone spoke to National Benefit Center?
Any exp..
Do they tell everyone like this...?

You have to wait. If you have received FP notice recently and you need to schedule that ASAP and after that they will take their own sweet time to decide...I would not expect your approval soon as you need clear FP first..before you can get on board..But hey..you never know...

Suppose if I call FBI after giving my finger prints will they give me any info.

But dont know abt approval after FP ...
 
Will 2FP also go for FBI check,name check etccc...once again....?

I have taken infopass Appt. on July5th ..let me see whether they give me some details.
 
Again my 2 cents from what I have read in these forums...Name check is done just once while a background check is done for each FP. I had an FP in late April. If there had been a name check then then my 485 would not have been approved.

I spoke with my Attorney She said they wont redo name check / security check each time , if it get clears once they fine .
I think my name check/security is cleared thats what the officer told me in phone NO any name check /security pending for this LIN no. looks everthing is cleared except FP validity.

but dont know how may months i need to wait for my approval.
If Sept bullettin is after july 2002 for EB3 India then I think I will escape retro.
Only GOD knows.
 
Not sure, from what I have read they return the results almost immediately, sometimes on the day itself. I had online case status updates saying FP review complete on the day itself during the first 2 FPs. The 2 since had no updates.

Guess you have to wait till ur FP is done, so try not to think too much about this. Call NSC again a couple of days after the FP.
 
I am also in the same boat,mine is 2 old.

My priority date is january 2002,still i am waiting for 485 approval.I got a RFE on 485,they received my response for RFE on June 07 2007.

You just have to give FP and wait. There is nothing more realy you can do at this time. Calling FBI will not help. The final verdict will be by NSC. So chill out bro and wait for few days...and dial your NSC IO number again..good luck...
 
Count me IN...

Hope they do more approvals next week too...I have been hearing for the past one week that my case is in the staging area and waiting for an IO to pick it up...Come on NSC, Keep them coming!

Or, may be I need AlwaysIn_Queue to say "You are next" or "I said so"..Where are you my man...
