Any Issues Crossing As Tourist after TN expiration

I am a Canadian currently working in the States under a TN visa. My employment and visa will expire on June 15th, upon which i will head back to Canada. Now my question is since my girlfriend will still be working in the states will i have a hard time coming back to visit her as a 'tourist' once my visa expires? Will the customs agent be suspicious that i am coming back to work and is there anything i can do to mitigate the chances of getting turned around at customs?

As long as you take the time to re-establish your own home (job, lease, utilities, DL, plates on car, etc) and bring proof of same, you will be let in.

But you won't be allowed to just leave US and return the next day for 6 monyhs, unless you hit upon a real sleepy CBP officer.
