Hi,

I am a GC holder, and i went to Europe for 2 weeks by using a travel document issued by USCIS. When i came back to US, Immigration Officer asked me if i went back to my country, probably because i was originally a derivative asylee. Then he asked me if i visited the neighboring countries of my home country.
I kept saying "No" to his questions. But the immigration officer did not believe me. Then he asked me about my national passport. I told him that i left it in US and i was using Refugee Travel Document for travel outside US. The
Immigration Officer was being very rude to me, he asked me several other questions like how i became asylee, why did i go to Europe, Length of stay, if my national passport is still valid or expired. I told him that i do not know if my National Passport is valid or not. i was not carrying my national passport with me. He advised me to carry it with me on all trips outside US. I kind of got into an argument with the officer because he kept stressing onto if i went to home country and how many days did i stay there.
Finally, he let me enter US and put notes in the computer system. He told me that he is putting in the system that next time whenever i am going to travel outside US, they will check my national passport, just to check if i ever used it.

I am hoping that i would have a problem in future because i never went to my home country.

I have heard similar stories from asylees from middle eastern countries.
I don't know if you are from there but IO give them hard time at POE.

just landed

i arrived today from my home country ( as an AS8 ) for the fifth time in 3 years, as all other times, the same questions asked to me, how long was the trip and reason.
i cannot imagine one day arriving and being questioned why visiting COP.....make no sense after all the times i been there.

In the other hand, the IO did not stamped my passport , he just stamped the CUSTOMS form that you give to the second IO while leaving the airport....should get my passport stamped or is not a big deal?
