Another Traffic tickets and naturalization question!

Hello Everyone,

I'm getting ready to complete the N-400 application; I have lived over 15 years in the state of Arizona, and over the years, I got several traffic tickets at a rate of 1 ticket every 3 to 4 years. All civil citations, and non criminal (Basically speeding, and some for expired vehicle registration). I opted to do traffic school on each citation, so the ticket does not affect my auto insurance rates. I requested a copy of my record from the Arizona Department of Motor vehicles; the report only shows 1 ticket since it only goes back to 39 months. My question is, do I mention the other tickets I received throughout the years, even though I can't get any records of these tickets, and they are no longer showing on my record?

Also, on the ticket that shows on my records, should I get all records on it prior to my interview?

Your feedback will be greatly appreciated..

Thanks

Most people do not mention. I myself mentioned 3 (two oridnary ones plues a reckless).
The earliest one was a stop sign for which I di dnot have record. The last one was a
speeding but charged as disobedience to traffic device which I got after n4-- and interview.

The IO did not ask for docs for the first one. I asked him:"I got a traffic ticket after I
sent N400 and I havd the recepit for my patyment. Do you care to have it:". He
said "Yes" then I gave it to him.

check with the respective county district court.... they will have records of all your prior traffic tickets and you can get a disposition certificate for a nominal fee.

In my case, IO verified all my three tickets (which I mentioned) and asked for proof of payment. When I showed the disposition certificate, she took them all and kept it in the A file.

IO ask for proof of payment. But if you really do not have it, I don't think teh IO will insist, at least not on tickets that are 10 years ago

Thank you all for the feedback. I'm calling the court now and work on obtaining the disposition certificates. This was ver helpful :)

@Skarface:

Have you considered saving yourself the trouble and not disclosing the tickets at all?

Advantge of disclosing traffic tickets is to fool yourself into thinking you are a more honest
person than others can cab brag you became a citizen by being honest. You can say latter
that you had some record that might affect your citizenship but you feel honesty is more important than citizenship so you tell teh USCIS total truth but still get approved

Agreed 100%. However, as has been suggested many times, it's never a good idea to volunteer information to the USCIS, especially when it's not required.

They say that what goes a round comes a round, always try to follow the law of the land, you will be ask set of questions, just answer what you been ask and you will go through.

It depends on many factors, including the IO personality, mood, etc. Also it depends on how confident you are during the interview. Like if you are nervous and trembling, IO may want to suspect of you trying to hide something... In many cases IO only asks if all the minor traffic citations were paid, without asking for proof. Sometimes, they don't even go that far.
On the other hand, there are cases where they went really hard on a petitioner. So, it's not very consistent and depends on other aspects.
