Is this indicates any hope in my case???One of my friend got his I485 cleared in six months.

Hey Suryasha,
What category are you in(EB??). Wow got fp's so fast. Myself did
fp's 4/9/03. I am also optimistic.

lucky guys

It seams that there is a group of lucky guys. You people appear to be from that one.
Good luck guys. You people keep us going.

Amazing TSC

My I485 ND: 12/13/2002.
FP notice received on 01/16/2003, just about a month.
I dont think FP notices are sent to approve I485,
because the processing date is still Nov 2000 and TSC definetely aware that these FPs will expire before I-485 aprovals !! Unless, we extremly lucky and get approval with in in 6 months.
I think FPs are being done for security purposes, which is the top priority for BCIS.

London..,
TSC is weird center. Anything can happen.
I looked into previous approvals in rupnet and enairobi.
Most of the cases are approved sooner after the fp's done.
We are just optimistic not hopefull.

KENNYGH got his approval after 8 months of his fp's done.
He got approved in Feb 03.(remember there was a freeze from Nov 02 to Feb 03).

OOCYTE: I filed my 485 after 140 approval. 140 approved on Oct 17th. I filed through Lawyer.

Wait and see

PD: 2/26/2002
ND: 10/4/2002
FP: 11/16/2002
2nd FP or AD: ??/??/0?

Did my 485 by myself. Two friends of mine did 485 by themsleves in 2002 and got their FPs done in a month or two.

my wife's EAD:
ND: 10/4/2002
AD: 03/10/2003

My and my wife's AP:
ND: 3/14/2003
AD: ?/??/2003

The two friends who filed in late 2001 got approved in 2002 (6~8 months). In early 2002 some of the approvals seemed coming shortly after FP.

The other 2 did in late 2002 have not been approved. There were barely any approvals since last Noverber.

oocite: What diffrerence it makes

I filed I 485 myself. I did not hire lawyer for preparing even my EB1-OR package. I got my I140 approved in four months by doing myself. So I feel we need not hire lawyer just to fill forms until there is some problem.

You did a great job to do all of your GC by yourself. Why did your employer file your EB1-OR for you? Unlike Eb1a and NIW, EB1-OR is employment based, Your employer had to write an employment letter for you anyway. In my university, if they are willing to do EB1-OR for you, the international office people will do it for you.

I noticed a trend based on several cases last year( 4 DIYs and 3 through lawyers) that those DIYs got their FPs very fast, 2 of them got approved very fast too. The other 2 got their FPs in 6 weeks. While those 3 filed through lawyers are still waiting for their FPs.

The 2 approvals were in early 2002, at that time some cases were approved very fast. I guess now we can not expect that any more. TSC now is issuing tons of FPs for the older cases, so early FPs may do not have any advantages at all. I guess that we all have to 2nd FPs for sure if TSC starts to process the cases based on NDs.

I know that the sample size is still very small and does not mean anything so far so I am trying to get more information to see whether I am right or wrong. But I think that it is significant enough for me to propose the possibility.

DIY of 485 is faster than hiring a lawyer

oocyte,
I dont see any logic in your theory. Why does that make difference to INS ? INS doesnt categorize applications on the basis of how you submitted the application.
Infact, i think it is better to go through a law firm. Good reputation of law firm is PLUS POINT.
