Am i eligible for EB1-EA

GUys,

Here are my credentials.

1. PhD in biomedical sciences from USA, Working as a post doc for 2 and half years in a top10 institution in USA

2. One American Heart association affiliate post-doctoral award (is it considered as a national award?), One American lung association post-doc award.

3. I have 12 papers, 8 first author, some of them are in very high impact journals, one invited review paper and almost no citations as all my papers are very recent.

4. Reviewed 4 articles in journals. Co-author of a chapter in a book.

5. ABout 20 national conference presentations and abstracts.

6. ~12 recommendation letters, couple of them are from international researchers.

7. I am paid approximately 3000 dollars more than the generally accepted payment for my peers with same experience.

8.Membership in three professional organizations

AM i eligible for EB1-EA? Please let me know.

Any opinion is very appreciated.

I think I am slightly more qualified and my lawyer said "maybe". I guess its worth a shot, but you should pick an experienced lawyer. Did you consider EB2-NIW? That should work for sure.

THanks for the reply. I am more inclined towards EB1-EA as it is very fast relatively. What do you think are my weak points and strong points?

you need to fullfil (ATLEAST) three criteria:

PUBLICATIONS, CITATIONS AND THE RECOMMENDATION letters would fulfil two criteria1. scholarly articles 2. original contributions.. but it really lacks the citations. You have to fill that hole by some means. Adjucators are not going to accept the argument that it is new publications because EB1-EA candidate should be some one who raised to top few percentage(According to USCIS).


3. Another criteria, i would see from your biograph is "judgement of others" ; You should be able to get some letters from editors so that this criteria could become stronger.

How are memberships. Do they require any acheivements or paid. if it is paid, forget about that.
Post doc awards are generally considered; ofcourse you can mention, but that would hardly fulfil the criteria

Thanks for the reply. Yes, i can get letters from editors. To get a membership in these organzations is by recommendation from the existing member and they evaluate the credentials and give it. Its not direct pay and be a member kind of thing.

Its little bit disappointing to know that post-doc awards are not considered despite they are nationally competitive awards.
 
Unfortunately post doc awards are not considered. But it makes sense as this is in lieu of a NOBEL PRIZE or equivalent!
Membership by selection is a good thing. But if you read earlier posts on this forum some have gotten burnt using that criteria - something like NAS is great, it is elected membership at ~2000 worldwide. Stringent requirements. But some like Sigma Xi have had mixed results. I would only use it as an additional criteria but not a main one. Letters from editors sure do count.

If post-doc grant awards are not considered, what kind of national prizes do post-docs have to win to qualify for EA? I am jut curious. I want to see the qualifications of a post-doc who got GC through EA. ALso, Are there any other national prizes for which pot-docs can compete? Also, besides NAS, what are the other societies that would be ideal to get membership?

It`s worth try your luck. Your credentials looks good except that ur publications lack citations (original contribution). I advice you to hire a attorney.
