hello everyone
thank you for this wounderful forum.
i have a big question, and i hope i can get a few answers and encouragement.
a little about me.
i was born in the Dominican Republic, in 1989(19yrs). my mom is not a us citizen and she still lives over in DR. i have two older brothers which are us citizen and served in the armed forces. My dad reacived his citizenship when he served in the vietnam war, before i was born. (born out of wedlock)
my dad has had custody over me and my younger sister even since we were born.
i have a expired dominican passport, a itn tax number and original birth certificate with a few misspell words on it.
ok about my statue. i have been to Puerto Rico on a visa from DR to visit. i have visited the usa, once bofore we moved back here to live. after we decided to live here, we flew to canada for a church event, and enter the usa through newyork. i have over stay and now am scare that i cannot apply for my usa citizenship through my dad. we thought if i waited till i became 18, then my legal stuate would become easier. but wrong!!!
i have never been introuble with the law. finished highschool and am in my second year in a university. (trying to be a lawyer)
also when i spoke to a lawyer over the phone he asked if my passport had a stamp from port of entry, but it doesnt. I guess they forgot to stamp it. But they did on my sister which is facing the same problem i am.
so what are my option? plz i would love to attend law school and have a normal life, and stop worring about immigration.
any help would be greatly appriciated.:cheerful:
