July 2, 2007, State Department Notice to USCIS Regarding EB Visa Availability

AILA InfoNet Doc. No. 07070663

URGENT URGENT URGENT

TO : CIS Section 245 ADJUDICATIONS
FROM : Immigrant Visa Control
SUBJECT : Authoriirations for Employment CASES

Effective Monday July 2, 2007 there will be no further authorizations in response to requests for Employment-based preference cases. All numbers available to these categories under the FY-2007 annual numerical limitation have been made available. Employment preference numbers will once again be available to these chargeability areas beginning October 1, 2007, under the FY-2008 annual numerical limitation.

The above action is a direct result of the sudden backlog reduction efforts of CIS offices during June and the first few days of July. During this short time period over 60,000 requests have been received and authorized. This is in comparison to the 66,425 CIS requests which were authorized during the first eight months of the fiscal year.

Please be sure that this information is passed to all personnel involved in the process of obtaining visa authorizations from the Visa Office for Section 245 cases.

ORIGINAL NOTE FROM AILA on July Consular Processing - I bet these requests happened from mid-June to end-June...even before USCIS got it's act together - Does that mean all Consular Processing guys are the lucky ones?

I remember, few years ago, that's what most folks would do....Since USCIS was so inefficient (2 year + wait) - they would just apply CP and get their greencards in 6 months or less...

How Are July Consular Appointments Affected by the Visa Bulletin Mess?
AILA InfoNet Doc. No. 07070667

The following information was received by AILA member Steve Navarre in response to an inquiry to State Department's Legalnet:

"Prior to Employment Preference visa numbers becoming unavailable on July 2, the consular posts had already been allocated their numbers for the month of July. The posts may continue to use their July allocations of Employment Preference numbers, and therefore continue to issue IVs, for the rest of this month for those applicants who were scheduled for IV interviews in July."

Dude,
What you say is positive news but--
Why do you say:-"with no online update or email to the beneficiary "

Isn't the e-mail of approval notification automatic? Why will it stop working now? I presume you mean they will print and send the cards but no electronic notification about it.
Thanks,
--Naveen Oshos

Based on the information from the members who have called TSC and spoke with IO's, it seems like lot of the cases are assigned to officers(which could mean that the approval is dates June 30th or July 1st) with no online update or email to the beneficiary but eventually they will send the card and approval notices in these three months. So, all the 25,000 visas they approved on June 30th and July 2nd haven't reached applicants.
