After getting reentry permit, can they return before the alloted time?

My parents will be applying for the reentry permit, and the plan is once they get it, and before they leave to go back to India, we will be taking an Alaskan cruise. Once they get the re-entry permit, can they leave ( going to Canada) for 7 days, and then come back into the US, and then leave for India? Or will that create an issue?

Yes, they can. No issues.

You can use the permit as many times as you want within its validity.
