Affidavit of support

Hi guys
is an affidavit of support really necessary?I mean a promise of employment and sufficient funds could be enough for the interview?
Also,how many weeks before the interview can I expect the 2nd NL?
 
You only need it as a back up plan. I don't know what kind of promise of employment you have I think you need more than just a letter staing you will be employed by some one...because any one can write that letter. If you have sufficient funds you should be fine.
