Affidavit of support and form I 134

Hi every body,
my interview date is 29 of December and case number is EU_10XXX, so the days are numbered. I have friends in US and I read about the affidavit of support and the form I 134. To be honest it sounds very cruel in financial sense, and I am not sure that my friends will like it after they read the instructions.
Has anybody had embassy experience, with different kind of affidavit of support which is more "sponsor friendly", something like e-mail or letter with good intentions. Any other advice is welcomed.

There is a different form but officially this form is for the DV lottery although the other form has been requested for DV winners as well, so there is some confusion going on....but in the end it doesn't matter which form, if it comes to liability, both will result in the same for the sponsor if the person is applying for certain benefits with in a certain time frame.

Specially with the unemployment over 10% and going up and in many areas already way higher...the USCIS will for certain be way mre strict if it comes down to proving income, funding or savings. USCIS them self is in need for money so it is easy for them to keep them self to the rules and deny any one who has no proof and already paid their fees...nothing is illegal for them to do so and move on to the next person who won...that way they are keeping them self to the law and rules of the DV lottery and getting to collect way more money. After all if you do the math this DV lottery is making a lot of money for them and making 50,000 +5,000 people very happy.

In the past the sponsor form might not have been important but by reading many threads and using common sense, it shows it has been asked for many times. Only people who had enough proof didn't have to show anything.

Every one knows if they have enough proof if the use their common sense and aren't being naive, so if you need it start working on it, or take your chances....

Thank you, an answer from bentlebee him self,
first I have to say I admire you energy and will to help or advise, because it does mean a lot especially that we all now the prize.
Well, probably I expected that there is no space to manoeuvre a lot with affidavit, because at the end if somebody accepts to be a sponsor he has to take the responsibility for that. But the thing is that I have a wife and child and if I come to situation where I won’t be able to support my family with basic need I would pack my bags and leave, I am not planning to be burden on anybody’s back.
So I wanted to hear if somebody had experience with the embasy with something different that I 134.
Thanks again bentlebee, keep up with the good work.

There isnn't much else that USCIS will accept. It is either having savings and proof where they came from if they ask or how long you have them, since it doesn't count if they come from a loan. Show of assetts like property (car's won't count), but still you need funding, because years ago property was easy to sell, right now it isn't and the values have come down a lot.

The other thing is if you can show proof (on letterhead of a company) of a job offer + how much the salary would be.

Or a family member, friend or stranger who is willing to sponsor you.

I haven't heard of any other possibility...well maybe winning another lottery where you get money...

You need to get by for a couple of months at least to pay for rent, utilities, mayba a car, food, clothes (can be bought very cheap in the US) and health care or a doctor's bill in caseone of you get sick....until you have a job, which isn't so easy these days with 16 million at least who are also looking for a job....and only when you obtain your SSN you can be hired. Without a SSN and not having build up a credit history it is even hard to get a rental place, etc...

Many have done it before so you can do it too:), the only thing is that since 1983 the unemployment hasn't been so high which makes the future for mny uncertain in the USA.:(
