Hi,

I filed my case at VSC with RD 04/16/2007 and did my FP in May 2007.
Today I called customer service and she mentioned that the processing time for N-400 at VSC is 04/19/2007....I asked her if infopass will help or not and she said that I could try but they will tell me the same thing.

Shall I make an info pass appt. @ boston office or not?

It wouldn't hurt to make infopass. Could the service agent at least tell you what the status of your case is? (ie background check pending?). Once you know the status you can take action from there.
 
I would say yes.

Remember, unless you spoke with an IO on the phone as opposed to a call center rep, you may not be able to get as much detailed info as you like.

Make the infopass. What's the worse case....you take an unpaid day off work :D
 
alphagc, what is the process to arrange for an infopass ?...
I am also in a similar boat.. a month or so after your dates ... not sure if I should worry yet .. but would like to get the details and keep em ready ... just in case.. :) Thank you
 
Here are the steps to schedule for an appointment:
1- go to uscis.gov
2- click on infopass image to the right.
3- enter your zip code...etc
4- Select option "You need information or other services "
5- follow to the end of the registration page.

You will need your R# and A# to register.

I'm boston as well and i called uscis and they told me same 4/19. But if you know the case tracking website and customer service use check cashed date as receipt date which is atleast used to be 7 days from actual receipt date.

Anyhow alphaGC let me know what you find out tomorrow.
 
I'm sorry I was away...

I did schedule for an appointment and actually it was good that I went there.
The IO told that I'm waiting in line but they have a huge backlog in BOSTON office. I told her you mean VSC she said no it is BOSTON.
She asked me to be patient and wait. I asked her if she can give me an estimate on when I should expect the IL ...she can't because she doesn't know...

Now, I'm going to wait and see.. hopefully I can get the IL soon...
