Dear Forum Members,

I'm Preparing to file I-485 and adjust my status to LPR, My concern is:

Asylum status was granted 06/02/2008, my one year proof of presence is a lease and my employment letter, the lease starts on 06/17/2008 and the employment letter starts 06/19/2008. I'm planning to file on 06/06/2009 since this would be over one year of the grant of asylum but the both letters cover a period that starts on the 17th.

So is this ok (can I file on 06/06/2009) or do i have to wait till 06/17/2009 then file???

Thank you in advance.

yes it is OK. Just attach a signed statement saying that you were in the United States from x date to y date and did not leave the country.

hi thankful
can u please tell me if any other docs can be used as proof of residency??

if u dont have proof of one year continous stay in US> than write a letter saying U have been continously and physically present in US since grant of asylum and never departed US since then and everything u said is true to the best of ur knowledge.

I wrote letter and i did same things for other freinds and worked.

send the letter of employment only as proof of one yr residence. that should be enough. They say yu keep it to minimum.
