Advice- F1 status with use of AP

Hi, My wife is doing her PhD. She transferred her H4 to F1 (not yet stamped in passport).
I applied for I485, as a dependent she got her EAD and AP.
1. If we go out of US and while coming back if she use AP, what will happen to her F1?
2. If we are not planning to use AP, can she go for F1 stamping?
F1 is says that "no intention for migration" but she is having a valid AP/EAD.
3. Do she need to change her visa status in college?

Experts .. please give me your advice.

She is no longer eligible for F-1 status.

No. She needs the AP to re-enter.

Do she need to change her visa status in college?

Probably, if for no other reason than not to bother with SEVIS anymore.

---> Its better that she informs the International Student Advisor about the AOS. Its the DSO's discretion. Sometimes they allow F1 visa status to continue
