Advance Parole Document

In November I applied for a Refugee Travel DOcument. However, since I had already had applied for my I485, I instead received an Advance Parole Document. I want to go and visit a my mother in the United Kingdom but my National Passport has expired and I have been advised not to renew it according to most forum members. Do I need to go to my COnsulate and get a temporary travel document? Please advise as soon as possible.

I also applied for a RTD after filing I-485 and received RTD not Advance Parole. My advise - Call them or make an Infopass to find out what is right to you. Dont get anything from your COP consulate.

I made the same mistake... I had to reapply for RTD. If you travel using adavance parole:
1. need to use NP.
2. You'll be readmitted but as a "paroleed" not as an "Asylee". You may not want to loss your current asylee status.
