adjustment of status through an uncommon visa category

I'm planning to get married to my girlfriend who is from the British Virgin Islands. She came to the us under a us/bvi visa initiative which is different from the visa waiver program. Her i-94(the white form) form was stamped as b2 and was given 180 days, but it's not an actual visa. I'm just wondering if it's possible for her to get an adjustment of status once we get married. Her purpose for coming here was not for marriage but we have gotten real close since she came. Since she is here I prefer to go this route than for her to leave and get a k-1.

Any help is greatly appreciated
 
She's been legally admitted in B status, so the lack of visa shouldn't be a problem. I and my wife adjusted, and we have never received a US visa.
 
I was told by an immigration consultant that adjusting her status is not possible because she doesn't have the actual b2 visa, just a b2 stamp in the passport and on the i-94form. I guess I need to do some more research.

immigration consultant? was he/she an attorney or those notorios that masquerade as attorneys.. the I went to law school but have not taken the Bar yet types. Schedule a consultation with a REAL attorney if you must but like the TheRealCanadian said she was legally admitted to the country and as such she can adjust status. The B2 stamp in her passport is equivalent to a VISA.
