Crap..crapp... how could I make this stupid mistake. I am in the process of moving to a new place, so I use the new address. I sent the application to USCIS last week. We put the wrong address. Instead of "Blvd" I put "Dr" on the street name.

So instead of: 123 Street_Name BLVD I put 123 Street_Name DR

I checked there is no 123 Street_Name DR in the city, there is only BLVD
So hopefully the post office will route the mail to my new address.

Can I make address change if I dont have the receipt referenced number? or the reference number is the A#?

THANKS

Hi siliconhybrid,
While filling Form AR-11 for change of address you need to enter alien # which is the A# you are right.

So the timeline is entirely your wife's? It's a bit misleading.

Anyway, if the zip code is correct, the post office will definitely know where to send the mail. It happens all the time. Addresses are often written with minor mistakes. I wouldn't worry too much. Correct the address at the interview.

Blvd vs Dr is very minor detail that won't cause your mail to be misdelivered. Either submit address correction via AR-11 or wait until interview to inform IO.

In this case... This small slip (Dr vs Blvd) may not affect return mail if the address contains city,state.zipcode. ( best to use Zipcode+4 as it narrows it down to your street.)

It is prudent to get the address changed with USCIS as suggested by Bobsmyth.

Per USPS ...
---------
Automated mail processing machines read addresses on mailpieces from the bottom up and will first look for a city, state, and ZIP Code. Then the machines look for a delivery address. If the machines can’t find either line, then your mailpiece could be delayed or misrouted. Any information below the delivery address line (a logo, a slogan, or an attention line) could confuse the machines and misdirect your mail.

Sigh of relief

I got the letter of acceptance delivered to the new address.
I will fill out AR-11 asap

To cafeconleche. I will fix/clarify my sig soon, basically the timeline consists of 3:
- My Citizenship (2007)
- My Wife GC (2008)
- and now we are applying for my wife Citizenship (2011)
