Add cases with No RFE,NoDecision for Oct/Nov 2004

Got the eagerly awaited news by email today (05/11/05) about my I-140 -

"Current Status:
This case has been approved. On May 5, 2005, an approval notice was
mailed. If 14 days have passed and you have not received this notice, you
may wish to verify or update your address. To update your address,
please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283. "


My case : (EB3 , Non-Current, future employement ( small consulting company of about 25 people)
Labor applied : June 2001
Labor Approved : July 2004
I-140 RD : 11/19/04
I-140 approval : 05/05/05 (looks like 05 is my lucky number)

Didn't get any RFE (not even any LUD) , though company Attorney was apprehensive of getting one because of ability to pay and did not allow me to file I-485 concurrently.

Guys, now I need some suggestions. First a brief history of my case. I used to work for the sponsering company when they had applied for my labor but left the sponsering company amicably to join the client in 2003 on clients's insistence. After my labor got approved , they applied only for my I-140 saying that they'll apply for I-485 after I-40 approval as it's safer to do so (on company's attoreny's advice). Though they put a condition that I should join them back for atleast 6 month . I agreed to this condition but only after I-485 approval.
My current which is a large corporation has applied for my labor too in early 2004. Currently I am on my 7th year extension based on my current company's labor application. I guess currently it's in backlog reduction center may take a couple of years. I am very happy with my current company and job as it's fairly secured (have been working for the last 5 years in the same group and same project).

Now my questions are -

(1) I don't want to join the sponsering (old) company until I-485 is approved. Is there any risk / problem in doing so ? In other word, will this reduce the chances of my I-485 approval.

(2) Is it possible to apply another I-140/I-485 concurrently through my current employer after my labor is approved while my I-485 is still pending with the old employer


Any suggestion /reply will be greatly appreciated.

The LUD was at 03/15/05 for a long time and USCIS have responded to the enquiry made by company attorneys stating that "additional system checks are pending". Only the LUD changed to 05/04/05 but there is no message change. Any idea what this implies.

I just called them (800-375-5283), and the guy I talked to was very friendly. He took all my information and forwarded the inquiry to the processing center. He also told me that for concurrent cases I-140 and I-485 are normally approved at the same time, but since I-485 takes much longer to process, the associated I-140 will just have to wait. But he took both receipt numbers and told me that it may take them up to 30 days to repond. So we'll see what happens.

Thought I'll let you all know that as of May 12th my I-140 (RD: 10/22/04) was approved . I'd called the emergency no. on Thurs. I believe and was told that my case would be looked into and he'd call back with details.

Had given up hope on hearing back till I got a call y'day i.e. 5/16/05 from the INS rep. saying that my I-140 was approved.

Unfortunately , in the euphoria of the 140-approval , I forgot to ask him about I-485
