AC21 help/question

Hi all,

First of all, thank you all for making this forum such a valuable resource for potential immigrants - the wealth of information here is just unbelievable.

I'm one of the several confused individuals here wondering what the heck is going on with 485 processing at VSC. I am coming up on 180 days since my 485 RD. Here are some details:

Filed Labor Sub EB3 PD Apr 1999
I140 AD: 9/30/2005
Filed I-485: 3/1/2006 RD: 3/6/2006 (Mar 6).
I also have approved EAD and AP.

Theoretically on Sep 6th, I will be able to switch employers. I have some concerns. Since mine is a Labor sub case and my I-140 was filed, I don't have a copy of the LC or the I-140. Will these be required when I file AC21? All I know is that my AC21 was filed under a different skill set (Mainframe) while I work on a completely different skill set (Java/J2EE) now. I also don't have an idea of what job title was used when my LC was filed. If my job title is similar(Programmer/Analyst 2 vs. Principal Software Engr) to what I had at the time my LC was filed, would that suffice? What documents would I need at a minimum to be able to file an AC21? How risky would it be?

Would appreciate any help!!!!

Thanks!
Kartik.

No, they're not required.

Pretty much. AC21 hinges on the term 'same or similar'. If you were doing software development before, and just switched platforms/languages, that is generally considered "same or similar".

Just evidence of the new job and its duties/compensation. Nothing needs to be filed unless USCIS asks for it.
