Thanks God. After 4 years of waiting I finally received my card this morning.

Unfortunately the card is not backdated. I am ready to file form I-90 to get it corrected. According to the form I need to provide the following

1. A letter explaining where the error is on my card;
2. My Green Crad
3. Supporting documents

What kind of supporting documents do they need? Can anybody tell me something about that? Or anyone with the same situation, or ever filed I-90 before?

Thanks in adavance

Four years? Are you counting from the day you got your Asylum? :)

I'm not in your situation but I can only assume they would need a copy of original grant of asylum whether it was a judgement or a Final Approval letter showing you are an asylee. Maybe a copy of your first I-94 showing date of Asylum granted and maybe a copy of your receipt for the I-495 application.

Anyone else care to weigh in?

4 years from asylum granted to GC is not bad at all. I guess USCIS is moving faster in that aspect at least. Congrats for your GC error and all at least you are a LPR...

What is the resident since date on the card?

If there is an error of the kind you described, you need to enclose a print out of the law authorizing the backdating.

print this off and send it in:

INA: ACT 209 -ADJUSTMENT OF STATUS OF REFUGEES

The Secretary of Homeland Security or the Attorney General, in the Secretary's or the Attorney General's discretion and under such regulations as the Secretary or the Attorney General may prescribe, may adjust to the status of an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence the status of any alien granted asylum who—

(1) applies for such adjustment,

(2) has been physically present in the United States for at least one year after being granted asylum,

(3) continues to be a refugee within the meaning of section 101(a)(42)(A) or a spouse or child of such a refugee,

(4) is not firmly resettled in any foreign country, and

(5) is admissible (except as otherwise provided under subsection (c)) as an immigrant under this Act at the time of examination for adjustment of such alien. Upon approval of an application under this subsection, the Secretary of Homeland Security or the Attorney General shall establish a record of the alien's admission for lawful permanent residence as of the date one year before the date of the approval of the application.
