A small hope for waiting 140/485 concurrent filers!!

Suddenly, one day the Vermont INS will pick up the speed and clear the cases very fast. Applicants who file the 140's will get approval in 1-2 months. But, we have to wait for that SOMEDAY!
Even my attorney is knowledgable like yours...... takes the own time to file the applications.

I see that people who applied later than me for I-140 (concurrent filing, Labor substitution) received their approval for I-140 and also their EAD. Don't know when it will happen for me

Dont worry man....you are not only one...there are 1000 out there who are in a same boat.

Interestingly your case and mine are almost same. Labor substitution and notify dates are almost same.
No EAD and I140 so far.

Please update here if any of 'em are apporved.

Question on AP reciepts

I have applied 485/765/131 with Lawyer's help only lawyer got the reciepts for all 3 I did not get the reciepts. Then I collected the original reciepts from lawyer. I recieved the FP notice for Dec 03 though i.e. Today.
I recieved the EAD card at my address i.e. approved on Nov 22 and then my 131 got approved on 25 but did not get the papers yet.

Now the question is if I will get the 131 AP or my lawyer would. Thanks for the response in advance

I dont think so they gonna reject your I 140. They dont approve EAD without pre-screening I 140 application.

I think that those appicant whose EAD has been approved, their I 140 will be approved soon.
 
Lawyer got AP Papers.

After seeing the approval on the website for I-131, I was checking my mailbox for 10 days. Later I came to know that AP papers were mailed to the attorney, directly . I don't know whether this is true for everyone.
 
You are right Meow....EAD Approval/Card comes directly to the Applicant but AP documents go to attorney....in my case same things happened and I was checking my mail box every day untill I got the fedex from my attorney.

there are no guarantees.......By INS
However, you passed the preliminary screening (one of many hurdles)

180 days rule?

They say, 180 days after filing your 485..you can work for ANY employer with your EAD. Now with this concurrent filing ..is this still valid. Is it 180 days after we filed for 485 ? OR 180 days after I-140 gets approved.
I filed my 485 on 09/20/2002 and my 1-140 was filed 07/10/2002. My I-140 is still pending.

Re: 180 days rule?

After going through various forums, i understand that the 180 days starts from the day we file I-485. Not from the 140 approval date. It seems there is no specific explanation for this AC-21 for concurrent filers issue from INS. Some attorneys say that if you are willing to take a risk, you can change jobs immediately -- that is even before 180 days of 485 filing. But, you should have the approval of I-140 in hand.
