Theoretically it is possible for the CBSA to let you in at a land crossing without scanning a Green Card (happened to me twice). However, when you come back, a CBP agent will ask you how long your trip was. Are you going to lie to him? Here comes a more important question - are you willing to lie on the N-400 form about your trips abroad? You sign the form under the penalty of perjury, so if your lie is discovered you will not only be risking citizenship, you may be deported. So, it is a dumb idea. I may also suspect that such questions are against the forum's rule.So I am thinking of driving up to Canada from New York and take the plane from Canada back to my country and when i come back I will do the same and come back to Canada and drive to the US (Hopefully without my green card being scanned on the ground borders).
