Hi,

I still have a while to go before applying for the NATZ.

However, my question is when does a potential applicant become eligible to apply for NATZ (work based)?

5yrs or 1736 days?

( I came up with 1736 days count in the following way:
5yrs = 5x365=1825days
+ 1days(additional day for the 1 leap year in 5yrs)
--------
1826 days
- 90 days (I believe application can be done 90days
before the 5yr anniv.)
----------
1736 days ??
------------
------------

Thanks.

Well, if your are lucky you may hit 2 leap years... Do not over complicate things, add 5 years to your permanent residency date and subtract 90 days from the result. Then you can find a number of days between that date and your PR date. Use DateDiff function in VB or SQL server.

You can apply 5 calendar years from the issued date of GC minus up to 90 days earlier.
So for example if you got GC in December 12 2003 , 5 calendar years later would be Dec 12 2008 minus 90 days = Sept 13 2008.

Thanks

This answer (unlike the post by lazycis) is simple, to the point and more useful.

On a rare occasion, all the 5 yrs might end up being leap years??:p
