My attorney filed on May 17. No response yet.

BTW, hats off to Carter Yen for starting this group -- it\'s a GREAT idea... it\'s good to realize we\'re not alone!

I also agree with the earlier postings about the INS... for a service that receives the kind of cash it does from immigrants, it would be nice to provide better service! Hopefully things will improve soon...

I agree and as we are all in the same boat, let\'s sail together.. Let\'s utilize this thread through the later stages of 485 process to keep each other updated on our progress.

My I-485 and AOS papers have been sent to the INS today(EB3)
Any idea how long is it taking these days for INS to complete the entire process ??
My lawyers have given me a timeline which is scary. According to them, INS is taking :
4 months for I-131 (AP)
5 months for I-765 (EAD)
18 months for I-485 application

Is that true ?? :(( I can\'t imagine working here for another 1.5yrs!! groan!!

Wow... I\'m glad you got what sounds like updated info -- it\'s sad, since some folks in my office filed their I-485 last winter and got receipt notices in 2-3 weeks, EAD/AP in 2 months, and I-485 in 5 months!I guess (once again, since it was only a brief period it was this way -- before late last year I-485s were also taking forever) those days are over.

The good news is AC-21 and the "180 day rule". After 180 days of filing (not sure if it\'s the date your application was sent in, or the date on the receipt notice), you are able, within limits, to switch jobs. Look on this site and others for details (I realize that switching jobs is not exactly something you can ask your immigration lawyer if he/she works for your employer.

  I got mail from my company lawyer on Friday saying that they got all the receipts for my I-485,EAD&AP. on Monday I will know all the details like WAC NO,ID&ND. I will post the message then.
