I can't believe that my 485 has been approved today, 3/10/2004.
Below is my info:

Changed job in July, 2001 and moved to Californa from Texas. Informed TSC about job change and address change.

ND: 2001/08/19
FP: 2003/03/13
RFE: 2004/01/26(officer 33 requesting employer letter)
RFE received by TSC: 2004/02/25
AD: 2004/03/10

I'd like to know if anyone can share any information on obtaining a green card without a passport. My passport is currently expired, and my lawyer told me that I can still get my green card when I take my approval notice to INS. She told me I just need to bring my photos and INS will give me a temporary card instead of stamping my passport since it's already expired. I'd like to know if anyone has done it before. I'd appreciate if you can let me know the exact process.

Thanks.

What's going on???

I just checked my status again and it shows a different message now. It was showing approved, and now it shows:

On March 11, 2004, we received your response to our request for evidence or information. It is taking between 990 and 999 days for us to process this kind of case. However because preliminary processing was complete, the remaining processing time will be less than the maximum stated in this message. You will receive a written decision on this case.

Anyone knows what could be going on? It was showing they got my RFE response on 2/25/2004, then It showed approved on 3/10, now it shows this....what's going on....I am very anxious now...

Thanks.

Don't worry.

It might a mistake when updating system. Your approval is on your way. You will find it in your mailbox in a week. Did you print the online message says "Approved...". I usually print the status page once it shows difference with before. Just curious, why take the risk of expired passport rather than renew it.

Thanks tsc123102

tsc123102:

I can't renew my passport due to the mandatory military service in Taiwan. So, the only way I can renew my passport is to have my green card first.....

I called the national service number and the person told me that she can't tell me anything besides the status is showing they just received my RFE. I told her it already showed they received the response on 2/25 and then approved on 3/10..but she wasn't helpful...she kept saying since my receipt date is 8/2001..and they're only processing cases before 6/2001. So, I just have to wait....Either she doesn't know what she's talking about or TSC is playing a big joke on me. Just hope I get the notice in a week otherwise, I know something is wrong....

Thanks.

just wait a few more days ....

.. you should get the approval letter.

Don't worry. You're there !!! Enjoy.
