$375 or $755?

Please will someone educate me on the DV visa fees. It is $375 in my NL and on the website provided in the letter. I hear people pay $755. Why the variation?
 
I am in Ghana and therefore doing the CP. It was $375 in my letter and had the impression the AOS people pay extra. thanks, but I will call the embassy on Monday.
 
Hahaa, so I'm not the only person who is not clear with this stuff. Let's wait for Monday.
 
It's quite simple really. The total fees for CP are $755. The $375 fee you mentioned is the Diversity Lottery Surcharge and is only part of the total. You still need to pay the regular Immigrant Visa Application Processing Fee of $335 and the Immigrant Visa Security Surcharge. Here's the breakdown:

Immigrant Visa Application Processing Fee: $335
Diversity Visa Lottery Surcharge: $375
Immigrant Visa Security Surcharge: $ 45
Total: $755

For AOS, you still pay the Diversity Lottery Surcharge of $375 directly to the Department of State, in addition to $1010 to USCIS to file form I-485.

yup, his question was how much we had to pay to the state department, so i didn't tell him about $1010 to USCIS.
