3 Month Residency Requirement for N-400 ?

Has a question regarding 3-mo residency requirement for applying for USC.

Do you need to be physically present in the state of application for the 3 months prior to applying N-400 ?

I have been living at my current address for the past 1.5 years and will be eligible to apply for USC in Jan 2011. Does it pose any issue at app stage / interview if I am going to be out of US for a couple of months immediately preceding my application ( provided I have met all physical presence and continuous presence requirements ).

Any impacts if you change residence within the same state / USCIS jurisdiction ?

Would appreciate inputs from folks who has been through similar situation.

The 3 month residency requirement only applies to applicants who move to the jurisdiction of a different DO. Since you have already established residence at your current address, a two month trip will have no affect on your residency requirements.

Not for residency or physical presence requirement (provide you meet both at time of applying), but it can affect continuous residency depending on the length and/or reason for your stay outside the US (ex: working outside US).
