Hi,

I had 3-Car accident in 2002 or 2003. I was the in middle. My car and car behind me was totaled and the car behind me was given a ticket. I was shown no fault in the police report.
after 2 and 1/2 years the the passenger in the front car sued me and the one behind me. My insurance hired attorney for me and after few months the attorney send me a letter that the case did not have any merits, hense dropped.

Now the issue: I do not have any documentation on this. Lost teh attorney's letter also. It all got misplaced while I was moving to new home.

Though I do not see any place in N-400 to report this kind of issue 9may be I am wrong).

Is it something I should worry about or try to collect some letter from my insurance company?

Thanks for the help.

You got it right, I am about to file N-400 and small and big issues, issues and non-issues are bothering me. Thanks for being there in this kind of confused time (for me).

This is a civil matter that is not to be reported. If O.J. Simpson were an PR and needed to apply for N400,
he would only need to report his crminal trial on N400 where he was foudn not guyilty but he would not
need to disclose anything on the civicl trial where he was found liable for the death of his wife.

No need to disclose this (law suit) as it's civil matter.

That is why I often wonder if applicants do not need to report regular traffic violations whatsoever
cited in Massachusttes. Massachusttes officially treat ordinary traffic violations as a civil matter between
drivers and the state of Massachusste.

Maybe the rule if not about whether it is crminal or civil but rather about prosecutor/plaintiff being
government or not.

Best not to ask IO about this at interview..you'll just confuse the hell out of them ;)

Q16 is "for any reasons" so that include civil violations in addition to crminal violations.
But Q17-21 should be only about crminal violations. But it seems we only care about Q16 about
traffic violation anyway.
